A few things that shape how I show up at work and in the world. This is a starting point for getting to know me, not a list of rules to memorise.
A steady point of view
I was born and raised in Hamburg, and I am comfortable with calm, thoughtful conversation. Helping other people succeed matters more to me than being the loudest person in the room.
I tend to begin from the assumption that people are experts in their own field. My role is to give them context, remove obstacles, and create the conditions for good work to flow. I value honesty, integrity, and doing what I say I will do.
Working preferences
I like clear commitments, punctuality, and the quiet confidence that comes from being prepared. I would rather promise carefully and follow through than create noise with ambition alone.
My own routines borrow from Inbox Zero and Getting Things Done, though I do not expect anyone else to work exactly that way. I appreciate regular updates, practical problem-solving, and feedback that makes the next attempt better.
I can be quiet in a group, especially while I am listening. A simple “What do you think?” is always welcome; it is often the invitation I need to contribute a considered view.
What replenishes me
My family is my centre of gravity. Time together, shared adventures, and the ordinary rituals around home give the rest of life its perspective.
Cycling is how I clear my head, usually with a thoughtful podcast about digital society, privacy, or the future of public services. Cooking is another kind of focus: I enjoy fresh ingredients, a multi-course meal, and having friends around the table.
Life beyond work
Cascais, Portugal
I am happiest near water: windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, and being outdoors all give me energy. I also like travelling independently, following curiosity rather than a fixed package.
Photography and small films help me pay attention and remember the journeys. They are a personal practice, not a side business; the photo gallery is where I share a little of that perspective.
